Since 2014, CARE International in Iraq (CARE), together with its partners have been implementing mutually reinforcing triple-nexus interventions, targeting conflict afflicted refugees, displaced, returnees and host populations in Iraq. CARE’s services have been in the sectors of Multipurpose Cash Assistance (MPCA), WASH, Livelihoods, Sexual Reproductive and Maternal Health (SRMH), Protection and Violence against Women, Housing, Land and Property Rights (HLP) and Women Peace and Security (UN Resolution 1325) and Climate Justic. With offices in Duhok, Erbil, and Baghdad, CARE's programming presently spans Duhok, Ninawah, Anbar, SAD, and Basra governorates. CARE's programming underscores climate justice, youth, and women’s empowerment to build cohesive, inclusive, and progressive societies. CARE is committed to localization and continues to expand its partnerships with women led and women rights CSOs, to strengthen their capacity while placing women and girls at the center of programming to achieve sustainable results.
